Of course we feel we should know all the tricks possible when using LearnYour Benefits – but we love it when clients take the leap outside the box and push things a bit further.
Each of these tactics, was first executed by our clients and now we’re implementing them them when we build new sites and update existing sites. …and we like them so much, we feel we needed to share them with you.


1. Benefits Scavenger Hunt – Employees were encouraged to explore the LYB Library through a creative scavenger hunt

When our client first launched their LYB site, they created a 10-question scavenger hunt using MS Forms to encourage employees to explore the LYB Library. The questions asked, deliberately made employees look into individual benefit topics and sections (documents, contacts, etc…) to find the right answers. They gave away $100 Visa gift cards to two employees using a random drawing out of employees who answered all questions correctly.

  • Over 41% participation in just 2 weeks
  • Drove hands-on learning of site navigation and benefit plan details
  • Reinforced self-service for benefit questions

2. Answering HR Questions with LYB Links – Include answers, but also include a link to where they can find answers on their own.

Instead of answering benefit questions with long emails, HR responds briefly and includes direct LYB Library links for further learning.

“Since you asked about your FSA, don’t forget to submit your claims before the deadline”
“Since you signed up for a Dependent Care HSA, here’s three links that might help you navigate…”

  • Saves HR time
  • Reinforces the LYB Library as the go-to resource
  • Helps employees become more independent in their Benefits Navigation

3. Centralized “Where to Go for Care” & Forms Documents


Several employers have downloaded or created easy to access information, documents and resources that live on their LYB homepage—consolidating all contacts, forms, and benefit actions.

Documents like:

“Where to Go for Care”– a guide to help employees prioritize from calling the nurse-line to going to the Emergency Room.
“Benefits Contacts” – Provider contact information for quick access.
“Expense and Travel Forms”
“Benefits Claims Forms”

Why We Love It:

  • Makes key info accessible in one place
  • Improves clarity during decision points and emergencies
  • Reduces email traffic asking “where’s that form again?”

4. Landing Pages for Timely Events & Monthly Newsletters – Strategic messaging – focused communications

 

This client creates a digital monthly newsletter using our landing pages feature. Content is focused on topics and events like Open Enrollment, FSA deadlines, health awareness months, and even birthdays and work anniversaries.

Why We Love It:

  • Keeps content fresh and engaging
  • Turns LYB into a communication hub, not just a resource library
  • Boosts regular traffic to the benefits site

5. Email Signatures Linking to LYB – keeping the benefits platform top of mind with each email.


HR and benefits teams include a direct link to their LYB Library in their email signatures with notes like:
“Got benefits questions? The LYB Library has answers.”

  • Passive but powerful reminder
  • Promotes self-service without needing a campaign
  • Easy to implement but highly effective
